DNA 101 - Drugs N' Alcohol 101
DNA 101 is for young women who are pregnant or have a young child, and want to learn more about how substance abuse can affect their lives, the health of their unborn baby, their children, partner and family.
Some of the young women who attend have used drugs and alcohol in the past or may still be struggling with abuse issues. Others may be affected by the substance abuse of others, including their parents or a partner. You don’t have to have a substance use issue to attend this program – just a desire to learn more about drug and alcohol abuse and the harmful effects it can create in families.
Role-playing, activities, videos and guest speakers are part of this program, which includes two parts, each one six weeks long.
The program will take up to fifteen participants. Participants must meet with the Rideauwood Addiction & Family Services Outreach Worker (program facilitator) and complete an intake assessment before beginning the program.
