Play For the Future Attachment Counselling

'Play For the Future'

Play For the Future is about helping you to become the best mom or dad that you can be.

This specialized program is a form of "attachment counselling" which is known more formally as Modified Interaction Guidance.

Put simply -- This program will help you and your baby develop a strong and trusting bond.

Is Play for the Future right for you?

If you tick off one or more of the following, then this program might be for you:

  • Feel over whelmed in your parenting role.
  • Have difficulty settling your crying or upset child.
  • Routines, feeding and sleeping issues are a real struggle for you.
  • Feel your child deliberately does things to get to you.
  • Experience power struggles between you and your child.
  • You were neglected or abused as a child and fear the effect this may have on your child.
  • You and your child spend little quality time together.
  • The relationship you have with your partner is negatively affecting your parenting.
  • Feeling very stressed in handling your child.
  • Other issues between you and your child that are getting to you.

Format

You and your child are videotaped as you play. As you watch the tape with your counsellor, you will learn special parenting skills designed to boost your child's self-esteem and build that strong, trusting bond between you and your child.

Benefits

Through Play for the Future, you will learn how to help your child feel good about themselves and develop strong self-esteem, so they can feel secure and confident in life.

Building trust in a child starts at the beginning. It is all about learning how to parent in such a way that you become a self-esteem booster for your child, so he or she will be secure and emotionally ready for school and life.

And building a strong, trusting bond now with your child will make all the difference in how your child will relate to you as he or she grows up.  If you want your child to be a confident teenager who is comfortable enough to come to you with their problems (e.g. about relationships, sex, drugs, etc.), considering signing up for Play for the Future.
