Programs & Services

St. Mary's Home offers a broad range of programs and services for young pregnant women, young moms and young dads, and their infants and young children.

Program Registration

When you become involved with St. Mary's Home, you will be linked up with a key Program Worker who will explore program options with you. Your Program Worker will help you decide which programs are most important for you and will help you register for the programs suited to your needs.

Childcare

Space for childcare is provided for many of the programs. Your Program Worker can give you advice on meeting your childcare needs when you are attending programs.

Healthy Pregnancy and Birth
Your pregnancy is a very important time for you and your baby.  How you spend this time before your baby is born will make a big difference in the health of your newborn infant and on your child's health for the long-term.  

Parenting Programs
Now you have a newborn infant and want to learn how to take care of your baby in the best possible way --- and learn how to keep being a good parent as your child grows.

Life Skills & Personal Growth
At St. Mary's Home, we are also committed to helping you take care of yourself and your own needs as an individual.  This means helping you to do the things that will make you feel good about yourself, such as reaching goals. 

For Young Dads
St. Mary's Home provides a special parenting program for young dads, called It's My Child Too.

School
The Ottawa Carleton Catholic School Board's Immaculata High School provides a satellite classroom for pregnant women within the Outreach Centre.

Teen Obstetrical Clinic
The Ottawa Hospital has partnered with St. Mary's Home to provide a youth friendly obstectrical clinic one day a week.

Play for the Future
Through its specialized program, Play for the Future, St. Mary's Home provides Modified Interaction Guidance, an intervention that promotes secure parent/child relationships.

Counselling
Pre/Postnatal Support, Parenting Support, Young Fathers Support Counsellor, Adoption Support, Advocacy and Outreach Support, Crisis Support, Addiction Assessment and Counselling, Community Referrals.

Ottawa Food Bank
Food bank support is available on site to clients of St. Mary's Home, thanks to our partnership with the Ottawa Food Bank.
